The 1,870 km corridor explained — what it costs, how many days it takes, and the documents that keep your truck moving.
The road distance is roughly 1,870 km through Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, and it is one of the busiest household corridors out of Kolkata because of the IT hiring cycle. A 1 BHK household lands between ₹22,000 and ₹38,000, a 2 BHK between ₹32,000 and ₹55,000, and a 3 BHK between ₹48,000 and ₹80,000 for a dedicated vehicle.
A shared or part-load consignment costs meaningfully less — often 30% to 40% below a dedicated truck — but it adds two to four days because the vehicle consolidates other loads. If your joining date is fixed, book dedicated; if your dates are flexible, part-load is the better value.
Adding a car to the same booking costs ₹14,000 to ₹22,000 on this route in an enclosed carrier, and a two-wheeler ₹5,500 to ₹9,000. Booked together with your household goods, the combined rate is lower than two independent jobs.
A dedicated closed-body truck covers Kolkata to Bengaluru in four to six days door to door: one day for packing and loading, three to four days on the road via NH16 and NH44, and a delivery day for unloading and placement. Part-load consignments run six to ten days.
Monsoon between June and September adds a day on the Odisha and coastal Andhra stretch. Festival weeks around Durga Puja and Diwali add two, because driver availability collapses across eastern India. Plan your handover date with one buffer day either side and you will never be the person sitting on the floor of an empty flat.
Interstate household moves need a signed inventory list, a GST invoice, and an e-way bill where the consignment value crosses ₹50,000. Vehicles being transported need the RC copy, a valid insurance certificate, and a PUC. Karnataka checkposts do stop carriers, and a missing PUC costs hours.
Keep original documents, jewellery, medicines, laptops and school certificates with you in your own luggage. No reputable mover will carry them, and none should.
Spring Hill runs this corridor weekly with GPS-tracked vehicles, one named supervisor per consignment, and WhatsApp milestone updates at loading, at the halfway point and on arrival.
